A Multi-Perspective Assessment of the Introduction of E-Scooter Sharing in Germany

Electric scooter sharing (e-scooter sharing) is a new urban micro-mobility service that expected to shape individual mobility. The introduction of e-scooter systems poses challenging questions for cities and transportation planners regarding their effects on system. This study addresses the question concerning strategies which are applied in different operation areas Germany. An interview with 21 stakeholders backgrounds (local transport authorities, public providers, operators, municipalities, associations, planning offices consulting companies, other mobility providers) was conducted reflect upon Germany stakeholders’ involvement planning. qualitative content analysis provides insights into assessment process thus contributes multi-perspective understanding topic. Derived hypotheses recommendations further contribute knowledge learning from experience. paper concludes description three styles: protective, pro-active, laissez-faire.
